110% Competition & Exhibition

Beautiful data from the beautiful game

110% is a brand new football data visualisation competition from Opta.

We’re keen to see what you as a talented and passionate designer can do to make our data look beautiful and we’re looking for creative and imaginative submissions based around three main categories:

  • Re-imagining
  • Infographic
  • Conceptual

More details & full briefs are available to download from the right hand column of this page. Using our rich data, you have an opportunity to push the boundaries of traditional (and sometimes mundane) football data visualisation, and create something different.

The deadline for submitting entries is Friday 2nd May 2014.

Once submitted, all work will be judged by a panel of industry experts. The winners of each category will be awarded a cash prize, and the best work will be displayed in an exhibition to be held in June 2014 in London.

Over £5000 of prizes up for grabs

The prizes for the student winners and runners up of each categories are as follows:

  • 1st place - £1000
  • 2nd place - £500
  • 3rd place - £200

Along with the cash prize, student winners will also have the chance to get their idea developed and the opportunity to be mentored by digital agency, Aqueduct.

Please Note: Prizes are for student entries only. To be eligible for a prize you must prove that you are a current student on a design related course.

Professional designers are welcome to enter. Although you will not be eligible for a cash prize, your work may still be chosen to show in the exhibition.

How to enter

Choose from one of the three briefs available. These are available to download from the right hand column.

Next, you need to choose one or more data sets. We have made available a wide range of data from some of Europe's best players, teams, matches and leagues. A full list of the data you can use is also available to download from the right hand column.

Email us at marketing@optasports.com, stating which category you have chosen and which data sets you require, and we will send you the requested data in an XLS format. By accepting and utilising the data provided to you, you are deemed to acknowledge and accept the terms and conditions.
